February Docent Meeting Minutes

Happenings
- We
played a mixer and were able to find out everyone’s hidden talent, hobby,
favorite TV show, and favorite animal!
- Dan
Lahern (sp?) from United States Fish and Wildlife came and shared with us
about what the organization dose and about the various endangered animals
in Kansas. He focused on the Black-footed Ferrets and their tie to
Prairie dogs. He explained that part of the process of reintroducing BF
Ferrets is overcoming the stereotype of Prairie dogs farmers have been
raised with as well laws that have been made in the past. But there is
hope. He also encouraged us to do our part by writing to congress, but,
most importantly, telling others about it.
